Check your steps on iPhone and Apple Watch
Before choosing a walking goal, get familiar with the step data your devices already record. Bear Walking Pal gives that daily movement a friendly home with Tom the bear, clear trends, and quick views on iPhone and Apple Watch.
Start with the steps you already have
Open Apple Health and look for Steps. It records step data from available sources such as iPhone and Apple Watch. Open Bear Walking Pal and allow the requested activity access if you want to display that information. Data availability depends on your devices and permissions.
Pick a daily target you can try
Bear Walking Pal offers 4,000, 7,000, 10,000, and 15,000-step targets. Choose a target that fits the day you are planning, then review how it worked for you. These app settings are not a medical recommendation or a universal requirement; the goal is a way to see your own progress.
Keep your progress within reach
Use the iPhone Home Screen widget or an Apple Watch complication to check steps without hunting through screens. Look at a few days of history, then weekly or monthly trends, rather than judging everything from one day. Tom celebrates when you reach the goal.
When two step counts look different
Different data sources and permissions can produce different totals. In Apple Health, review the sources for Steps and the access granted to the app. Give the app time to show available data. If the difference persists, send support your device models, software versions, the screens compared, and the time of the comparison.
Record a thought from the walk
If you use the optional Premium Upgrade, Walk Notes lets you record a spoken observation or idea on iPhone or Apple Watch. Premium also includes Calendar View, the Ddakji collection, and iCloud backup. Check the app for current purchase details before choosing an upgrade.
Questions & answers
Do I need to carry the iPhone?
Step data depends on the recording devices you use and how they are carried or worn. Apple Watch can contribute data through Apple Health when set up. Permissions and available sources affect what the app can show.
Should I delete data if the totals differ?
Keep your history while checking sources and permissions. Contact support with the comparison details before taking actions that could remove your records.
